Marilyn Holt's Fiction PickMary Rosenblum explores what that world will be like in the Pacific Northwest with too little water in Water Rites. In the foreword, Mary writes that in 1994 the scary global warming predictions were forty years out, but now, fourteen years later, they are becoming a fact of our lives. As Mary concludes in her foreword, "Think of that next time you vote, or purchase a car. Pay Attention, okay? It won't be a nice world to live in." (Water Rites, p. 11). This is a moving, exciting story that you can read with your family, including children. Water Rites should be on every reading group's booklist. Read more about this at Amicus Agraria. More Books We RecommendPeople interested in healthy, local, wholesome, farm fresh food tend to be interested in the world around them. We are often asked about books discussing food issues. To help people find these books, we created a link with Powell's books, and independent book store in Portland, Oregon. While we are great readers, and we try to keep up with what is being published, we don't have time to read every book. We have read most of the ones listed here, but when someone we trust suggests a book (is that you?), we will add it. The books we are recommending are found when you click through to Powell's. If you want to buy the books, you can do so there. You can also take the information to your local library and borrow the books. We support libraries, too. |
